Anyone who has owned a dog has been witness to some very odd things being swallowed. My first dog once swallowed (and threw up) a Nintendo Gamecube lanyard. My current dog recently swallowed 16 full size candy canes, including the wrappers. These never resurfaced.
These pale in comparison to this dog, from Cubbington England:
While playing tug with another dog, Ozzie, a staffordshire terrier, swallowed the toy - a plastic rubber duck - whole. Vets were able to operate and remove the rubber duck, which hadn't even been partially chewed.
